LIGHT THE LANTERN

bring the movies back to sleepy hollow.

One year ago, a group of neighbors believed this community deserved a place to gather, connect, and experience the power of film together. The response has been overwhelming — and now it's time to prove this village wants it built.

WE HAVE 100 DAYS TO make this happen.

THE 100-DAY CHALLENGE

The Strand's project sponsor is on board. Architectural first drafts are complete. The total cost is about $950,000 — about the price of a single-family home in our community. But we've hit our first major test: we must raise $200,000 by August 1st to secure our lease. Without it, this opportunity disappears.

Two major donors have already committed $50,000 toward that goal. Now we need you.

$50,000 raised of $200,000 goal — 25% there.

Help us close the gap.

A NEW HEART FOR BEEKMAN AVENUE

A 100 year old cinema is being reborn

The Strand building on Beekman Avenue - a landmark in the heart of the village - is being redeveloped into a multi-arts hub via the NY Forward Project. We will anchor to the ground floor with a state-of-the-art 120-seat cinema, cafe/wine bar, and welcome center, provided we raise the money necessary.

More than a Movie Theater

01

02

for beekman avenue

A cultural anchor that makes the whole block worth visiting — creating a year-round economic engine and driving foot traffic to every restaurant and shop on the avenue.

03

For horror fans

Year-round programming and destination spooky events, right where the legend lives.
