Here’s the Scoop
Have you seen this SAM graphic on some of our listings? As a special added bonus, before select films marked with this stamp, we’ll be screening the new 30th Anniversary 4K restoration of “Season’s Greetings” (1996) featuring the first appearance of “Trick ‘r Treat”’s “Sam” character (a mysterious trick-or-treater who would later become a modern horror icon).
About Season’s Greetings
What is this short film about, you ask? Here’s the story: On a late Halloween night, a young trick-or-treater on the hunt for candy discovers the dangers of staying out past midnight.
“Season’s Greetings” Facts
As noted, the original short film was written and directed by Michael Dougherty, who has also directed films including “Trick ‘r Treat”, “Krampus”, and “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” The film was created using traditional hand-drawn animation methods, and has now been restored and remastered for its 30th Anniversary. Season’s Greetings preserves the charm of its original 16mm presentation while inviting audiences to experience Sam as he first appeared.
This film unfolds like a dark holiday fable: playful, eerie, and quietly unforgiving. Join us on this spooky adventure!
