Award-winning Filmmaker Brian Darwas to Project The Exorcist and Halloween III on October 30th!

Presented by The Church of Celluloid, a film archiving and revival screening project.

We’re firing up the 16mm projectors for one night only, thanks to Brian Darwas!

Catch William Friedkin’s defining possession masterpiece THE EXORCIST alongside the ultimate synth-driven cult classic HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH on authentic 16mm film!

The Home for Horror carries on strong all of October at Sleepy Hollow Cinema, including an incredible event on October 30th.

Join us and award-winning filmmaker Brian Darwas for two rare 16mm screenings: The Exorcist and Halloween III! Darwas’ film preservation project is titled “The Church of Celluloid”. He has a huge 16mm collection and projector, with a substantial and awesome list of 50s-80s horror and cult titles! Primarily held in New York, Darwas hosts a public screening series through “The Church of Celluloid”.

Darwas preserves and champions the presentation of cinema on its original analog formats, primarily screening rare 35mm and 16mm film prints rather than digital formats. Based in Westchester County, New York, Darwas utilizes his extensive personal collection of film prints to host public screenings of classic, cult, and genre films.

With 16mm screenings enjoying increased popularity, Sleepy Hollow Cinema is thrilled to be a part of the fun. The Exorcist and Halloween III are excellent choices for Spooky Season – and we are looking forward to seeing them as never before with Brian and the community!

No digital files. No streaming. Just 16mm celluloid, warm projection light, and pure terror. Talk about a good time! Thank you Brian Darwas! See you there!
