Sleepy Hollow Cinema

A Home for Movies
in Sleepy Hollow
& Tarrytown

Sleepy Hollow Cinema is a new community-based nonprofit founded by local cinema fans with a shared mission: to create vibrant gathering spaces where residents can experience the power and art of film.

our mission

Born from strong public enthusiasm for a hometown theater, we aim to bring a diverse lineup of films to Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, including family favorites, Spanish-language films, avant-garde indies, and horror. Grounded in our regional identity, we aspire to become a national Home for Horror, especially during the Halloween season, drawing both locals and visitors.

Our Fundraising Goal

We’re raising $200,000 this summer to secure the future home of Sleepy Hollow Cinema.

A comparison chart showing projected costs increasing from $200K by summer 2026 to $750K by April 2027.

The Strand project has a capital partner and approximately $1.5 million in grants secured to begin renovations. Community support will help Sleepy Hollow Cinema reach its next fundraising milestone and bring a state-of-the-art cinema back to Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown.
